COMPOSITION PHOTOS

We were looking at the composition of a photo and how we arrange elements in a photograpph. I experimented with this by using more than one focal point in a shot, and putting those focal points off centre, by using the rule of thirds technique.

I also tilted down, to create emphasis on the weakness and vulnerability of the focal points. The shape of the face and the shadows when tilting down onthe focal point creates this vulnerable image.

I used the line technique in several of my photos. This is where you use lines to point your eyeline to the main point of focus, for example in the picture below the wall is the line that leads to the main focal point which is Beth.

In this picture, similar to the photo above, the cars create a line which is in the middle third.
The pathway leads up to the main focal point in the top third which is Martha.
To create power and menice, I used tilt up, however it makes a person look unatractive because it expresses the jawline, chin and nose too much.

I used a triplet in this photo, with Beth, Marth and the bags, the eyeline is high, giving them a powerful look.
